Join the fun at the Black Oak Equestrian Campground. This is a lovely, secluded campground away from all non-horse campers on the lake. Each campsite has pipe corals. There are several potable water spickets so bring a long hose. There are pole bathrooms. No showers. This campground is not recommended for trailers over 30’. If you have a long rig you will want to try to book one of the sites 1-6 toward the front of the campground, the sites toward the back will only accommodate 2 horse trailers.
In order to go on the trails you will need to do a road crossing or a ride along the road over the damn. Trails are moderate so be sure your horse is conditioned accordingly. We will do a group ride to the waterfall along the front side of Jenkinson lake. Anyone wishing to take on more adventure can ride the backside.
Booking: this is a meet-up style campout so you need to book your own campsite using this link: https://www.eid.org/recreation/sly-park-reservations-and-campsite-photos/black-oak-equestrian-camping
You need to bring everything to self sustain you and your animals, however if you forget something we always bring some extras just in case. We will have some group games and be sure to bring/wear your patriotic items to celebrate.

You will go PAST the ranger station to Mormon Emigrant Trail Road, you will be turning left here BUT there is a fork here at the turn and you want to take the driveway on the right side of the road just after you turn to go up the hill into the campground, look for the campground sign at the entrance. If you miss the turn, drive down Mormon Emigrant Trail, over the dam and turn around in the day use parking area on the left.
