Starfall Ranch LLC – Terms of Service for Equestrian Workshops

By registering for and/or attending any equestrian workshop or event hosted by Starfall Ranch LLC (hereafter "Starfall Ranch"), you (hereafter "Participant") acknowledge and agree to the following Terms of Service in full. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between the Participant and Starfall Ranch.

1. Assumption of Risk

Participant understands and expressly assumes all risks involved in equestrian activities, including but not limited to riding horses, being around horses, working cattle on horseback, and attending or observing events involving horses and cattle. These risks include, without limitation:

  • Being stepped on, kicked, bitten, or thrown by a horse

  • Equipment failure or malfunction

  • Injuries resulting from interaction with cattle

  • Risks associated with outdoor conditions, uneven terrain, weather, and other natural factors

Horses and cattle are unpredictable animals. By attending any event, Participant assumes the full risk of bodily injury, property damage, or death arising from participation.

2. Release and Hold Harmless

To the fullest extent permitted by California law, Participant voluntarily waives, releases, and agrees to hold harmless Starfall Ranch LLC, its owners, officers, employees, agents, volunteers, contractors, and affiliates from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action, whether known or unknown, arising out of or relating to participation in any Starfall Ranch workshop or event, including without limitation claims related to:

  • Personal injury or death

  • Property damage or loss

  • Negligence (except gross negligence or intentional misconduct as defined under California law)

This release is intended to be a complete and unconditional waiver of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.

3. Tack, Equipment, and Rider/Horse Suitability

It is solely the responsibility of the Participant to ensure that:

  • All tack and riding equipment used is in safe and working condition.

  • Both horse and rider are physically capable, properly trained, and adequately prepared for group riding in a clinic or workshop setting that may involve cattle.

  • The horse being ridden is not dangerous, aggressive, or unsuitable for the event’s format.

Starfall Ranch does not assume responsibility for inspecting Participant equipment or evaluating the readiness or skill level of either horse or rider.

4. No Refund Policy

All sales are final. Starfall Ranch enforces a strict no-refund policy for all workshop tickets and event registrations. This applies regardless of:

  • Illness, injury, weather conditions

  • Scheduling conflicts or travel issues

  • Horse-related problems (e.g., lameness, behavioral issues)

Participants may request to transfer their spot to another eligible rider with prior written approval from Starfall Ranch, but such transfers are not guaranteed.

5. Compliance with Rules and Instructions

Participants agree to follow all posted signs, safety guidelines, and instructions from Starfall Ranch staff or event facilitators. Failure to comply may result in immediate removal from the premises without refund.

6. Medical Emergencies

In the event of a medical emergency, Starfall Ranch may arrange for emergency medical treatment as it deems necessary. Participant agrees to be responsible for all associated costs and authorizes such care on their behalf if they are unable to do so.

7. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed under the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding shall be brought in the appropriate courts of [Insert County], California.

8. Severability

If any portion of this agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

9. Acknowledgment

By registering for and/or attending an event hosted by Starfall Ranch LLC, Participant acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to all terms outlined in this agreement.

Participant's acceptance of these terms is required for participation in any Starfall Ranch equestrian event.
